Apply for exam counselling

We offer an exam counselling service to students where the exam in question is the last one required to qualify as an Associate or Fellow.

This will help you to understand:

  • why you failed a paper
  • how you can improve your performance in that subject
  • how you can improve your exam technique generally

 

About the service

The 2 counselling arrangements available are:

  • a comprehensive written report with comments on your performance and advice to help you in your next attempt at the exam
  • a comprehensive written report with a follow-up telephone call with a counsellor – you will be required to take the call within 1 month of receiving your report or you will lose this opportunity

The exam counselling service is not available for Core Principles (CS, CM and CB exams).

Retrospective counselling for a previous exam sitting is unavailable as we do not keep exam scripts longer than 16 weeks as per our data retention policy.

Exam counselling will not give you:

  • access to the detailed breakdown of your marks
  • access to your exam script
  • comparisons with other students who passed the exam

Service dates: September 2024 exams

The exam counselling service for the September 2024 exams is available from 6 December 2024 to 17 January 2025.

Please complete the application form and send it to send it to Member Services below.

Payment

If you are: 

  • paying by card: call Member Services on +44(0)131 240 1325 to pay for and arrange your counselling
  • paying by bank transfer: complete the application form and send it to Member Services with proof of payment – you must ensure payment arrives in our account before the exam counselling closing date
  • paying by cheque: unfortunately, we cannot accept cheque payments at this time
