The Institute of Actuaries was founded in 1848, constituting a president as its leader and elected by its council. The Faculty of Actuaries, established in 1856, elected a chair of its council for each year until 1887 when its leader was designated president.
On this page you can see all presidents of each body from 1887 to the contemporary leaders of the UK actuarial profession. When respective memberships voted to merge as the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries from 2010, its leadership became the president, immediate past president, and president-elect for each year.
