IFoA launches new Middle East Member Committee

The IFoA has launched a new Middle East Member Committee bringing together IFoA members from across the region, to help shape and drive IFoA activity. The initiative is part of the IFoA’s focus on bringing decision making closer to members, drawing on their local knowledge and expertise.

Working in partnership with the IFoA executive, the committee will develop a clear plan for the region, which will help drive greater member engagement and identify opportunities to support the growth of the profession.

The committee is chaired by Shivash Bhagaloo, Managing Partner of Lux Actuaries & Consultants with Hasham Piperdy, General Manager (KSA) Badri taking the role of deputy chair. It has member representation from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait and Pakistan.

Middle East Member Committee Chair, Shivash Bhagaloo said: “The IFoA has rightfully recognised the growing importance of the actuarial profession in the Middle East region with the formation of this Strategic Committee. I’m proud to act as Chair and together with the Deputy Chair and the rest of the Committee we are keen to work to support and promote the interests of IFoA members living and working in the region”.
