16 April 2024
We have committed to keeping you updated on the progress we’re making with the new governance reforms that Council passed in December.
Last week, we announced the appointment of Lord Currie as independent chair for the new IFoA Board.
Today we’re pleased to let you know that the formal member consultation to gather feedback on the future of Council is now open and details can be found on our Future of Council webpage.
As part of our new governance, Council will be focussing on the vision of both the IFoA and the actuarial profession. The Council Working Group (CWG) ran a series of open discussion webinars in February to hear members’ views and these helped to inform this phase of the consultation. The consultation paper lays out more specific points for consideration and details on how to respond. We look forward to receiving your feedback and insight.
We know that many of you are keen to participate in this unique opportunity to consider how Council can best support the future growth of the profession and serve the needs of our growing, global membership. To address any questions and to discuss the paper in more detail, we are holding three webinars and one in-person event at Staple Inn Hall in the coming weeks.
These events are open for bookings in the links below:
We are keen to gather as many views as possible from across the IFoA membership. We hope the 08.00 event on 30 April will be of particular interest to those in Asia able to join at that time.
Your responses will help to shape the purpose of Council and the way it operates. We look forward to hearing from you on where you believe the IFoA Council should be heading.
