As part of our commitment to provide you with the best digital experience, we are making some important updates to our systems. As part of this upgrade, you will have access to a new member portal, which will have an improved user experience and will look similar in design to the rest of our website.
Members have begun to receive instructions on how to access their new member portal. These instructions will continue to be sent out gradually over the next week.
We recommend waiting for your personal registration email but if you have an urgent need to log in to your IFoA account, you can request your registration link to be emailed to you directly by clicking on the ‘Request Registration Link’ button on the login page.
This upgrade will replace your previous members area with a new member portal. You will be able to carry out more functions online and have a simpler, more intuitive experience across our online platforms.
The new platform will be:
These updates will also allow us to make further improvements to how your book exams, record both PPD and CPD, and manage your IFoA membership.
When we deploy this upgrade, our systems will be down for a number of days. During this time you will be unable to login or access your members area.
Please avoid logging into the members area of our website whilst we implement the upgrade.
As this is a large-scale and complicated technology upgrade, which affects many of our internal systems, we anticipate there will be disruption to our services.
Our delivery partner Silverbear, part of ClearCourse Membership Services, will be leading on the roll out of the new upgrade. Silverbear will be working closely with us to resolve any issues as they arise.
We understand this will be an inconvenience and we appreciate your patience during this period as we make these important changes to your members area.
As soon as the new system is ready, we will email your preferred email address with a unique registration link asking you to register on the new member portal.
Your new member portal will use your preferred email address as your default login username. We will also send the instructions of how to register on the new member portal to this email address.
You will receive an email to your preferred email address with the details you need to register. This email includes a unique registration link that you need to use to access your member portal.
Please do not try to log in until you receive your new registration link.
You can also find step-by-step support on the registering process at: guide to registering on the new member portal.
By setting up your profile using your unique registration link, all relevant data currently available to you in your members area will be accessible to you through your new member portal.
You will still be able to access your existing means of payment through the new member portal. Over time, we will release a number of self-service options that will provide you with a simpler way to manage your subscriptions.
Please note: 2023/24 subscriptions are not yet available for payment. We will contact you by email during October. No surcharges will be added.
You will be able to apply for reduced rate subscriptions on our new member portal, once our new member portal is live in late September 2023.
Please remember, you will need to register on the new member portal, using the unique registration link that will be sent to you, before you can apply for reduced rate subscriptions.
Once your member portal is live, you will receive an email to your preferred email address with the details you need to register.
Please do not try to log in until you receive your unique registration link.

Exam bookings closed at 17:00 BST on 28 July 2023 and will not reopen until the end of January 2024 for April 2024 bookings. At that time, you will still be able to access the existing exam booking process through the new member portal.
As we may need to close access to your online members area for a short period between now and when you sit your exams, we have made your joining instructions available to download from your members area a few weeks early.
Your joining instructions have been made available from 16 August 2023 from 10:00 UK time in your existing members area.
You will be able to access the exam platform from 29 August 2023.
We will also send your joining instructions to you by email on 29 August 2023.
This update will not impact the delivery of exams.
You will still be able to access your existing exam results through the new member portal.
While the upgrade is being deployed, you will be unable to use the Actuarial Knowledge Hub to access subscribed e-journals and e-books.
Students registered for the IFoA’s September 2023 CB2, SP6, and SP9 exams can contact library services about alternative access to examined e-books. Please email libraries@actuaries.org.uk.
Once your new member portal is live, access to the Actuarial Knowledge Hub resources will be available through your new member portal via our library services web pages.
