Have you ever wondered how a magazine is put together and would you enjoy finding out? Do you like writing and coming up with ideas? Are you interested in interacting and interviewing other student actuaries? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
The Actuary magazine is the leading publication for the actuarial profession and is owned by the IFoA. We are recruiting a student member of IFoA to join the editorial team. This is an exciting chance to learn the ropes about how a magazine is put together.
In return for helping to produce our award-winning magazine, you’ll have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge about how the publishing world works, meet interesting people with lots to say, attend fascinating events and enhance your CV.
As student editor you will:
The position is a great opportunity for student actuaries who would enjoy networking and learning more about how the IFoA works. We’re looking for someone who is a good writer, confident at editing text, full of creative ideas, and efficient, organised and resourceful. You will need to be able to work to deadlines as you will be fitting this work around your day job.
The role is flexible and how you manage your time is up to you. You’ll need to make sure that you have enough time to submit the bimonthly student page. We also ask that you attend all the regular monthly meetings, usually held on a Wednesday at noon GMT.
