Risk Management Research and Thought Leadership Committee – Deputy Chair

Do you want to stimulate the advancement of actuarial science? Would you like to join a group that is a focal point for research in the risk management practice area?

We are looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Deputy Chair to join the Risk Management Research and Thought Leadership Committee. The candidate would be interested in applying to Chair the committee in the future. We welcome applications from both members of IFoA and suitably experienced non-members.

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have a passion for actively fostering and driving forward all stages of research and thought leadership for their peers working in the risk management practice area.

About the committee

The committee works closely with and reports into the Risk Management Board for all matters relating to research and thought leadership, specifically within the risk management practice area and other cross-practice initiatives.

The committee’s current goals are:

  • improved promotion of the research output of our working parties
  • ensure research outputs demonstrate the value that an actuarial viewpoint and skill set has brought to research
  • ensure research outputs speak to how the research can meaningfully inform business decision making

Time commitment

The time commitment is approximately one day per month. This is made up of regular (typically every other month) meetings of the committee and contributing to research support activates in between.

Meetings will be held by conference call or video conference to allow us to widen this opportunity to all.
