Risk management – Cyber Risk Investigation Working Party – Chair

Application closing date: 15 November

The chair of this working party is recruiting a successor to engage the existing member and non-member volunteers to assist the working party with its research and to on-board new members, some of whom have been identified. The aim of the working party is to create a greater awareness of the risks for insurers from an operational and insurance perspective, as this area is changing rapidly via the dependency on computer systems to support insured businesses. The working party has made considerable progress to date in several areas. The successful candidate will build on the work to date and consider new workstreams.

  1. Cyber capital estimation
  2. Reserving for cyber
  3. Cyber risk for pension schemes
  4. Cyber for life and health insurers

Cyber experience is not a requirement for the chair applicants. The working party has significant expertise in cyber and an advisory team of ex-members that covers the breadth of cyber expertise.

Time commitment and tenure

The working party meets in its entirety three to four times a year and meetings last one to two hours. Outside of these meetings sub-workstreams meet more frequently as required by their goals and milestones. Participation can be via conference call therefore ensuring this opportunity is available to all members.

How does this working party benefit you

  • Develop your understanding of cyber risk
    • Members have the chance to work alongside both industry experts and with our wider group of ex-members who act as subject matter experts
    • Open up opportunities to be involved in cutting edge change and thought leadership. Given the evolving nature of cyber, this is a relatively greater opportunity than most other areas.
  • Provide the opportunity to gain a wider perspective
  • Access to experience outside your own specialist area
  • Offer opportunities to test and share ideas
  • Your ability to contribute towards the development of the profession and enhance its reputation
