Health and Care Lifelong Learning Sub-committee – Deputy Chair

The IFoA’s lifelong learning committees play an important and highly active role in coordinating and curating the content provided in the profession’s virtual webinar programme and conferences, with support from the IFoA’s events, marketing, and communities engagement teams.

Health and care is a constantly developing practice area. This vacancy offers a real opportunity to shape the direction of travel in terms of contributing your enthusiasm and expertise to the committee.

Many people are now working and learning within a hybrid model. The webinar programme and conferences are key to showcasing central themes and innovations to the health and care community, which in turn encourages, engages, and supports members in many ways.

Being part of this lifelong learning committee is an opportunity to make a real difference to members and to contribute to the wider profession.

Lifelong learning committees: events – terms of reference (PDF, 190 KB)

We are seeking a Deputy Chair with:

• a strategic mind set with thoughtful views on how the IFoA can enhance its events offering to ensure they follow best practice and add value to our diverse community of current and future members
• a willingness to work with other committee members to pull together an engaging series of events – both in person and online – to ensure health and care professionals have access to the CPD they need to perform their roles
• a wide network of contacts and willingness to reach out to them to contribute to future events
• a commitment to publish and promote events on personal social media accounts and to join the conversation on one of the IFoA’s social media posts and IFoA communities
• an awareness of key issues and hot topics facing actuaries working in health, care, or protection, as well as an interest in new domains as actuaries diversify into new sectors

Time commitment

The time commitment on average is no more than 1 day per month. This may be more or less during different times of the year depending on the scheduling of the portfolio of events.
