Are you an IFoA member with experience in managing social media accounts and engaging audiences on digital platforms? We need your expertise.
The Diversity Action Group (DAG) is seeking to appoint volunteers who will help enhance the groups online presence and wider engagement directly with the actuarial community.
Overview
The DAG works collaboratively with the IFoA’s leadership team. The purpose of the group is to:
- partner with the IFoA Executive for the implementation and advancement of the IFoA’s five-year diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategy
- undertake work to ‘embrace and promote diversity, equity and inclusion’ as per the IFoA’s strategy
- identify, support and deliver activities that promote and further DEI within the actuarial profession and that promote and publicise the benefits of DEI among members
- act as a source of guidance for members and other boards, committees and groups, and champions DEI for the IFoA membership
- act as a ‘critical friend’ where relevant to support and encourage progress regarding DEI within IFoA membership and the wider profession

Person specification
Successful volunteers will have a keen interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). They will understand the current issues regarding DEI in the actuarial profession and have a willingness to continue to develop their knowledge further. They will have passion, a proactive attitude and sufficient time to drive forward and contribute to activity in line with the IFoA’s DEI strategy and the DAG work plan.
Expected activities are to:
- source and summarise news articles, webinars and research papers on a weekly basis
- help the DAG group define a strategy to promote DEI within the actuarial community, with a focus on social media presence
- engage with members on our new member resource groups section on IFoA communities
- update the groups social media account on IFoA communities and LinkedIn
- liaise with DAG members to share updates and support, or request support, as required
- support any new initiatives

Time commitment
The time commitment varies but will not be more than one to two hours per week. There is flexibility around other commitments.
