IFRS 17 has a significant impact on how the performance of (re)insurance contracts is measured. New financial metrics allow for deeper insights that can be leveraged for business steering. This session aims to demystify new and updated metrics for life insurers by considering recent IFRS 17 disclosures (with a focus on Asian insurers). Metrics are analysed on a gross and net reinsurance basis allowing to examine the effectiveness of reinsurance under IFRS 17. This session promises to be useful for finance and actuarial professionals across regions.
